PURPOSE:To obtain the title thermal transfer sheet which is excellent in heat resistance and slip property of a rear surface, excellent in both adhesion and peeling off property between the thermal transfer sheet and a material to be transferred and free from resolving property of a printed image and greasing by a method wherein a rear surface layer is formed by using styrene/ acrylonitrile copolymer as a main component of a binder. CONSTITUTION:For a thermal transfer sheet A, a heat fusible ink layer 2 is formed on one side surface of a substrate film 1, a rear surface layer 3 is formed on the other side surface, and a mat layer 4 is formed between the substrate film 1 and the ink layer 2 as occasion demands. The rear surface layer 3 preventing sticking of a thermal head is provided to a rear surface of the thermal transfer sheet. The rear surface layer 3 is that to be provided to the other surface of the substrate film and as the substrate film, that which is comparatively excellent in heat resistance, e.g. a polyethylene terephthalate film, should preferably be used. The rear surface layer is formed by main component, styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer as binder resin and other necessary additive agents. |
