PURPOSE:To exactly and efficiently check receiving facsimile(FAX) information to a slave set by declaring a FAX waiting state from the slave set to a master set and transferring only the cover information of FAX information representatively received by the master set to the slave set. CONSTITUTION:When a specific slave set waits a specific FAX, the slave set previously declares its FAX waiting state to the master set through a public line or a private line. The master set stacks the slave number of the slave set in a memory part 9. The master set representatively receives FAX contents from the public line by means of a FAX function and temporarily stores the received FAX contents in a multimedia data base 2. The master set checks the existence of a FAX waiting slave set stacked in the memory part 9, and when the slave set exists, transfers only the cover of the FAX contents and header information to the slave set through the public line or the private line. The slave set informs the reception of the cover of the transferred FAX contents to an operator. The operator successively displays and checks the received cover.
