An injection moulding machine has a closure unit which holds either a first mould with a central gate and central cavity or a second mould with central cavity but non-central gate for an asymmetrical sprue; it has also an axially moving/driven injector unit, mounted on a block on the frame, and a base block to take the plasticating barrel and drive system for the screw. An arrangement moves the injector from one operating position with a central injection axis for the first mould round to a set second position (at least) for the second mould in a pivoting plant passing through the central axis of injection. The mounting block holding the plasticating barrel in a sliding seating can be locked in position; this block and its support can be moved back by the unlocked but axially halted barrel; it pivots about a point at the back and between parallel faces on the support. It can be moved into a position opposite that for injection where pressurised melt from the barrel flows out of the nozzle and beyond the bore which is extended in the direction of injection; it flows to a point on the mould support from which solidified polymer can drop off for disposal.
