Passive IR monitoring system - comprises stack of IR detectors distributed on column at various angles to cover complete field without gaps

The detector system is used for surveillance of a large area (S). Detectors (1.1-1.4) are mounted on a post. Each one is set at an angle to monitor a particular region (I-V). The regions overlap each other so as to avoid any gaps in coverage. The arrangement provides complete coverage upto the height of a fence on the other boundary. The output of each detector is amplified and signals fed through to a multiplexer input of a processing stage. Processed signals are relayed to a main station. ADVANTAGE - Provides uninterruped surveillance at selected distance. Reduced number of false alarms.
