Quick-release clamping ring for grinding wheels - has split nut allowing release of clamping force by moving two halves apart
摘要
The grinding wheel (3) is clamped between a collar (2) screwed onto the spindle nose (1) and a nut (6) on the outer side of the wheel. Between the nut and wheel is a bearing ring (10) with balls (12) recessed in the ring face to reduce friction. A cup-shaped cover (8) has pins (9) which engage elongated holes in the nut. The nut is split diametrically into two halves. The wheel is clamped by turning the cover (6) clockwise by hand. When the wheel is to be changed the cover is turned anti-clockwise. Because the sides of the holes are inclined to the circumferential direction the two halves of the nut open slightly releasing the clamping force and facilitating easy removal of the grinding wheel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, robust and easy to use. Requires no additional hand tool.
