The vent line (2) connects the radiator to the upper section of an expansion tank (1). The expansion tank cover (3) has a filler pipe (9) fitted with a cover (21) and a relief valve (20). A pipe (6) off the vent line leads through the top section of the expansion tank (1) and has an opening near the tank bottom. At the top of the tank it has a connection with the outside air formed by a space (10) in the filler pipe (9) sealed off from the interior (4) of the expansion tank.
