The stand has a bridge part with a link accommodation point (12) in a central section (11) for taking the lower end of a stand leg (14) of a musical instrument. It also has two side parts (16,17) connecting outwards from the central section which via vertically sprung bolts (19) are located in lower suction cups (20) in contact with the floor. The link accomodation point is formed as a pan which receives a ball link type head (13) screwed on to an instrument stand leg. The suction cups are formed with thinner walls in the upper central area around the bolts than in their other area. USE - As a stand support for larger string instruments, e.g. the violoncello or double bass.
