Process for disposal of a H-contg. petroleum refinery liq. sludge stream as an oil-in-water emulsion comprises: (i) mixing with a hydrocarbon oil to cause the emulsion to invert to a water-in-oil emulsion; (ii) mixing the water-in-oil emulsion with a feedstock for a FCC reactor; and (iii) feeding the water-in-oil emulsion and the feedstock to the FCC reactor in which the oil and the feedstock are catalytically cracked.
