The vehicle shock absorber has two pipes (1,15) which move inside each other incorporates a gas-compartment (3) contg. a high-pressure gas pad beginning at the base (2) of the inner pipe (1). The inner pipe (1) contains a separating piston (4). A first liquid-compartment (6) has an axially movable piston (9) on which pressure is exerted so that another compartment (14) is formed between the separating piston (4) and the piston (9). - The control has an axially moving operating piston (12) which, together with the inner pipe (1) forms an annular space joined to the control. Near the control attachment (10) the piston (9) forms an annular space (16) together with the inner pipe (1).
