<p>The device for assisting with the optical focusing of the objective of a camera includes a contour-extracting circuit (10) coupled to a marker generator (60) whose output is connected to a combining circuit (70) receiving moreover the video signal from the camera. The resulting composite signal is applied to the viewfinder (80). Thus a marker, whose position in the image depends on the focusing, appears in the viewfinder, focusing being obtained when the marker is in an extreme position on its axis of displacement.
