PURPOSE:To improve residential amenity by varying the position of the buckle part of a seat belt means for seats on both sides in the direction of the width of a car and locating the center of the seat belt in the center of a passenger even when passengers are seated on only seats on both sides, in a passenger constraining device for a rear seat for a vehicle where three passengers can seat. CONSTITUTION:When belts 12 and 13 are situated in a double-seat position, when three persons are seated at a rear seat 13, a belt 12 for right and left seats and a belt 13 for a central seat are moved leftwardly of an arrow mark 17 by means of a buckle moving device 11. Namely, through running of a motor 20, a sprocket 22 is rotated through a reduction gear 21, and a slider 16 is moved leftwardly over a guide rail 19 through a ball 18. A tongue inserted in the intermediate part of a seat belt 6 is locked to buckles 9 and 10 connected to the belts 12 and 13, respectively, to constrain passengers. This constitution locates the center of the seat belt 6 in the center of a passenger to support the passenger in an optimum state at three points by means of the seat belt 6, and improves the residential amenity. |
