PURPOSE:To obtain the above heat sensitive recording material having excellent recording image preservation stability and printing stability by incorporating compound having a methylol group and ammonium salt of organic acid having two or more carboxyl groups in a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat sensitive developing layer containing leuco dye and developer as main ingredients is provided on a support, a protective layer containing polyvinyl alcohol resin as a main ingredient is provided on the developing layer, and compound having a methylol group and ammonium salt of organic acid having two or more carboxyl groups are incorporated in the protective layer to form a heat sensitive recording material. The weight mixing ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol resin, compound having methylol group and the ammonium salt of organic acid having two or more carboxyl groups is desirably 10-50 parts of the compound and 1-30 parts of the ammonium salt having two or more carboxyl groups to 100 parts of the polyvinyl alcohol resin. The protective layer may be one or laminated. |
