<p>A retaining clip for use in holding the wires of a cage created during the process of manufacturing a reinforced concrete piling comprises a plastics planar element (10) having around an edge a radial slot (15) which receives longitudinally extending wires of the cage and retains them against the pressure of a flexible tongue (16) and a second slot (25) in the plane of the element (10) which extends through the tongue (16) and part (14) of the element (10) to receive a wire rod (9) of the cage which is transverse to the other wires (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and bonds them together.
