The present invention relates to new amino acid derivatives and pharmaceutically accetapble salts thereof which have inhibitory activities against renin, to a process for the preparation thereof, to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same and to the use of such compounds for the manufacture of a medicament for therapeutic treatment and/or prevention of hypertension, heart failure, renal diseases or glaucoma in human beings or animals.
