PURPOSE:To improve feeling of steering especially in a vehicle mounted with an air bag by obtaining a variation quantity of steering force based on the mass and the offset quantity of a steering wheel, and correcting the control value of power steering oil pressure so as to cancel the variation quantity. CONSTITUTION:Steering force input to a steering wheel 20 is transmitted to a front wheel 22 through a rack-and-pinion gear 21. In a hydraulic actuator 23 provided with the rack-and-pinion gear 21, regulated oil pressure with a rotary valve 24 is introduced to two chambers A, B to move a piston 25 and a rod 26, and auxiliary steering force against the front wheel 22 is generated. Further, oil pressure quantity input to and output from the rotary valve 24 is controlled by current (control current i) supplied from a control unit 30 to a solenoid valve 27. In this case, based on the mass and the offset quantity from the rotation center to the center of gravity of the steering wheel 20, the increase/decrease control value of the auxiliary steering force is corrected. |
