PURPOSE:To improve the usability of a picture forming device at 'Paper ends' time by making a controlling means to only command an original reading means to read originals even when a print key is pressed at 'Paper ends' time. CONSTITUTION:An original placed on a contact glass plate 19 is irradiated with an exposure lamp 13 and the light reflected by the original forms an image on a CCD in a picture reading board 10 through the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd mirrors 21, 22, and 23 an image forming lens 11. Data in a picture memory 52 are read by an IPU(2) 53 and subjected to picture processing, such as variable power processing, black-white inverting process, half tone processing, etc., as required. At copying disabled time due to no transfer paper of a prescribed size existing in a prescribed direction in a paper feeding cassette or on a paper feeding tray, namely, at 'Paper ends' time, it is informed to the operator of this picture forming device that only reading of originals is possible and the automatic output made thereafter and the readable quantity are indicated to the operator by displaying messages on a displaying section. Therefore, the copying process can efficiently be performed. |
