PURPOSE:To obtain a wooden bathtub whose dimensions are scarcely expanded and contracted due to the variation of an ambient humidity condition by including a side wall formed by joining plural unit materials, and a bottom plate whose end edge is fixed to the side wall, and impregnating the side wall and the bottom plate with a dimension stabilizing resin. CONSTITUTION:The wooden bathtub 10 includes the side wall 12 and the bottom plate 14 attached to its side wall 12. The bottom plate 14 is attached to the side wall 12 by a groove 16 formed in the inner wall of the side wall 12. The side wall 12 includes a first unit material 18, a second unit material 19, a third unit material 22, a fourth unit material 24 and a fifth unit material 26. The unit materials 18, 19, 22, 24 and 26 for forming the side wall 12 and a wooden plate for forming the bottom plate 14 are impregnated with the dimension stabilizing resin. As for the dimension stabilizing resin, a urea-formaldehyde- glyoxal initial condensate is used. In such a manner, comparing with the wooden bathtub which is not impregnated with the dimension stabilizing resin, the expansion and the contraction of dimensions caused by the variation of the ambient humidity condition are reduced to half. |
