The wheel disc (1) of a vehicle wheel has a wheel cover (3) arranged at the end sides. The said cover is provided with four axially extending retaining tongues (5) and retaining cams (6) provided thereon, which cams engage, in the installation position (a) of the wheel cover (3), behind a radially directed retaining nose (8) on a passage opening (7) of the wheel disc (1). In addition, four control shoulders (13) with run-up slopes (13') are constructed in sections about the passage opening (7), in the base (14) of which slopes there is, in the installation position (a) of the wheel cover (3), in each case a projection (12) protruding axially from said cover. By producing an angular rotation on the wheel cover (3) the projections (12) slide over the run-up slopes (13') of the control shoulders (13) so that the retaining tongues (5) are displaced radially inwards by means of their retaining cams (6) and the wheel cover (3) thus becomes disengaged.
