摘要 |
PURPOSE:To obtain a ceramic material having improved oxidation resistance by filling an organometallic compound containing a specific SiC ceramic precursor in a vessel, heat-treating with a hot hydrostatic press and heat-treating in an oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The organometallic compound to be used as a starting material contains an SiC ceramic precursor having a group changeable to a graphite structure or a 6-membered carbon-ring structure by heat-treatment on the main chain or a side chain of a polycarbosilane, etc. The organometallic compound or a mixture of the organometallic compound and a heat-resistant fiber such as SiC fiber is filled in an opened vessel, melted by heating and formed to a prescribed form. The vessel containing the material is placed in a hot hydrostatic press and the content is converted into a ceramic by heat-treating in an inert gas such as Ar under a pressure of 50-10,000kg/cm<2> at 100-3000 deg.C until the concentration of >=2C gas in the exhaust gas reaches <=10ppm. The ceramic is further heat-treated in an oxidizing atmosphere (e.g. air) at 500-1500 deg.C for 10min to 30 days to obtain a ceramic material containing SiC (21R) as at least a part thereof. |
