Improved rotary cutter for portable, motor driven lawn mowers, lawn edge cutters etc. comprises a rotating member (48) which with wall (50) defines a chamber accommodating bobbin (57). The bobbin, which can be replaced, has flanges (59, 60, 61) defining two compartments (62, 63). Cutting wires (65, 67) are wound on the bobbin, one in each compartment, and a length of wire from each compartment passes through peripheral apertures to the exterior where they project in the cutting plane. The cutter is safe in operation, flinging of obstructions being eliminated. |
