PURPOSE:To prevent ink from remaining in a cap by providing a groove for guiding the ink relating to a suction opening formed on the internal surface for sucking in a cap. CONSTITUTION:A cap 35 comprises a seal surface 35a, a groove (slit) 35b in the shape of a slit for gathering inks left in the cap 35, a suction opening 35c for sucking arranged at lower parts thereof, and a tube 35d having an ink passage therein is formed in a rear part. The slit 35b, for example, is arranged in nearly whole area in the central upper and lower directions on the internal surface of the cap 35. The suction opening 35c is formed in the shape of an ellipse having the same width as the width of the slit 35b. On the internal surface on which the slit 35b is provided, a tapered surface is formed being directed to a part ranging to the slit 35b from the boundary of the sidewall having the seal surface 35a. Accordingly, ink residue in the cap 35 can be prevented. |
