MANUFACTURE OF STAPLE FIBER COMPOSITE RUBBER PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To manufacture easily a product having the max. degree of fiber orientation in the height direction of an inlet by a method wherein the inlet for a rubber is made into a slender slit shape and the height is specified. CONSTITUTION:An inlet 3 for a rubber feeding a short fiber composite rubber into a cavity 2 of a mold 1 has an inlet part 3a with a path crosssection of an approximately round shape and a slit part 3b continuously connected with the inlet part 3a and with a slender path crosssection in the transverse direction. A short fiber composite rubber 5 having the max. degree of fiber orientation in Z-direction can be obtd. by making the height L1 (the distance in Z-direction) of this rubber inlet part 3 (the slit part 36) to be 2mm or smaller and 1/2 or smaller of the cavity height L2 of a cavity 2 connected with the rubber inlet tart 3 in Z-direction (L1<=L2/2). A final short fiber composite rubber product can be obtd. by taking it out of the mold 1 after vulcanization is finished and removing excess rubber 6 corresponding to the rubber inlet part 3.
