NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X is O, S, methylene or NSO2CF3; M is SnRR', TiRR', ZrRR', AlR or Zn; R and R' are each lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl or halogen; when X is O, M, is SnRR', ZrRR' or Zn, and when X is methylene, R and R' are each halogen). EXAMPLE:N,N'-(S)-2,2'-ditrifluoromethanesulfonamide-1,1'-binaphthyl diphenylstannane. USE:An optically active Lewis acid catalyst. Applicable to the asymmetric hydrostannation reactions for simple ketones, asymmetric C-C bond reactions and polymer syntheses. PREPARATION:The objective compound of the formula I (where, X is X') can be obtained by reaction of (A) an optically active binaphthyl compound of formula II (X' is O, S or NSO2CF3) with (B) a metal complex of formula M(R'')2 [R'' is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or O as the entire (R'')2]. |
