PURPOSE:To maintain high output for long time to prevent the lowering of the output voltage in the early period of discharge by including specific amounts of a magnesium halide and a zinc halide in a cell having the negative pole of aluminium thin layer and the positive of a halogen. CONSTITUTION:A cell is formed by using the aluminium thin layer negative pole 1 formed on the conductive base plate 5 by using aluminum plate or by a vapor deposition, sputtering, plating, etc., and the halogen positive pole 4 made of a halogen, a N-halocarboxylic imide or amide, e.g., N-iodine succinic imid, etc., copper bromide, copper chloride, etc. And, a magnesium halide or a zinc halide, e.g., magnesium chloride, zinc chloride, etc., is included in the cell in a proportion of 0.001-0.5 (mole) times as much as the aluminium negative pole; that is, in the independent intermediate layer 2 adjacent to the separator 3 or in the positive pole 4 preferably. Thus, the lowering of output voltage in the early period of discharge can be made lesser and also high output can be maintained for a long time. |
