PURPOSE:To improve information recording density on an optical recording medium by recording the optical recording medium in oscillating a pit train in the direction of intersecting the direction of the train in accordance with a 2nd information signal. CONSTITUTION:In such an optical recording system that a train of pits P in patterns based on a 1st information signal is recorded on the optical recording medium 6, the train of pits P is oscillated in the direction of intersecting the direction of the train in accordance with the 2nd information signal, and is recorded on the optical recording medium 6. For example, the train of pits P is changed in its length (length and cavity; the cavity is also applicable) according to the 1st information signal, and also this train of pits P is oscillated in an approximately orthogonal direction to the train direction (the direction of a track center TC) according to the 2nd information signal, so as to be recorded on a track T. By this method, the information recording density on the optical recording medium is more improved than the case of recording a pit train in patterns based on the 1st information signal to the optical recording medium. |
