PURPOSE:To obtain an oxime useful as a synthetic intermediate for amino acid, alpha-ketocarboxylic acid, etc., by reacting an alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylic acid compound with a nitrous acid ester in the presence of a cobalt compound and an organic silicon compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula VIII can be produced by reacting a compound of formula V [R<1> is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, COOR<3> (R<3> is alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl), etc.; R<2> is OR<6> (R<6> is H or R<3>), group of formula VI (R<7> to R<9> are R<3>), etc.] with a compound of formula VII (R<12> is alkyl) in the presence of (A) at least one kind of compound selected from the compounds of formula I (R<13> is alkyl, perfluoroalkyl, aryl, etc.; R<14> is H, alkanoyl, etc.; R<15> is H, alkyl, aryl, etc.; R16 and R<17> are H or alkyl), formula II and formula III (R<19> and R<24> are R<13>, H, etc.; R<20> and R<23> are H, alkyl, alkanoyl, etc.; R<21> and R<22> are R<15>) and (B) a compound of formula IV (R<29> and R<30> are H, straight- chain alkyl or aryl; R<31> is H, alkyl or allyl). |
