MULTI-MAGNETIC REPRODUCING HEAD AND MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reproduce a track by a multi-magnetic reproducing head without lowering a regenerative output even when tracking is deviated within a trace range and to suppress an adjacent crosstalk amount of an amount in the case of on-track in one head constituting the multi-head by widening apparent head width. CONSTITUTION:An (n) [(n) is an integer more than 2] of magnetic heads 1-3 wider than recording track width are arranged while remaining an overlap part between the adjacent heads and being shifted in the breadthwise direction of recording tracks 6-8. Namely, the apparent head width is widened. Therefore, even when tracking is deviated within a range where the multi-magnetic reproducing head completely traces the track, the track can be reproduced without lowering the regenerative output and the adjacent crosstalk amount can be also suppressed to the crosstalk amount when completely tracing the track by one head constituting the multi-head. Thus, an S/N is improved rather than the case of reproducing by one conventional head which head width is equal to the apparent head width.
