PURPOSE:To easily produce the titled flat spiral body having intended width and thickness by spirally advancing a wire rod in spiral grooves while taking it up with the rotary forming means of a preforming means, and spirally advancing the same in the spiral grooves of a finish forming means in succession to this then passing the same through an expanding part and between a pair of press-sandwiching pieces. CONSTITUTION:In a preforming means 4, the 1st rotary forming body 7 is rotated and driven by a driving shaft 12 so that a wire rod 15 is twined and wound on the body 7 at the inlet of the 1st guide hole 8. Along with this winding, it is spirally advanced along the 1st spiral groove 9, is moved on the outside circumference of the body 7 and is wound approximately elliptically along the outside circumference of the body 7. A flat spiral body blank material 35 of a size W1 narrower than the intended width and a size T1 thicker than the intended thickness is formed. This material 35 is then conducted immediately to a finish forming means 5, where it is moved on the 2nd rotary forming body 17, and is advanced spirally along the 2nd spiral groove 20 by way of between press-sandwiching pieces 18, thence it is passed through an opening part 24 and a press- sandwiching part 31. As a result, the flat spiral body such as meshed belt having the intended width size W2 and thickness size T2 is obtained. |
