PRODUCTION OF HOT ROLLED STEEL PLATE WITH PACKING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To save labor for packing and unpacking of a coil and to prevent the decrease in the yield of the coil by rust by rolling the part continuous with the cutting part of a steel plate to the thickness smaller than a product thickness by a finishing mill of hot endless rolling and using the part rolled to the small thickness as the packing material of the coil. CONSTITUTION:Bars are joined by the joining equipment on the inlet side of the finishing mill 2 and the mill is operated. The joined part is then tracked and the thickness thereof is rolled down to the prescribed thickness under a hydraulic rolling reduction by the finishing mill 2. After the steel plate is rolled to a prescribed length by the prescribed thickness, the thickness is returned to an outlet side thickness. The packing material part thinner than the product is formed. The cutting position of the thinned part is tracked and is cut by a high-speed cutting machine 5.
