PURPOSE:To decrease a work quantity by generating the map of the ground surface, changing the scale of the maps according to the altitude of an airplane by the signal from an altimeter and displaying the map. CONSTITUTION:The output of a sensor system 1a is sent to an instrument 3 and a map generator 4a and the output of the map generator 4a is sent to a map display device 6. The sensor system 1a has the radio altimeter and INS (Iner-tial Navigation System) and the instrument 3 has the altimeter (display section) and HUD (Head Up Display). The map generator 4a generates the maps of the ground surface and changes and outputs the scale of the maps according to the altitude of the airplane by the signal from the radio altimeter of the sensor system 1a during the flight. The map display device 6 displays the maps by receiving the output from the map generator 4a. The scale is automatically changed over according to the altitude and the pilot's work quantity is decreased. |
