<p>A demountable towing hook for a car has a hollow fitting behind the bumper, into which the end of a swan neck towing hook is located and secured. The towing hook has a securing sleeve (8) pivoted about its fitting and, with the sleeve threaded to screw inside the threaded hollow support. The sleeve is fitted with a control wheel (7) to allow a large manual force to be applied. The wheel is locked by a separate threaded securing bolt (16) while the end of the hook is profiled to sit over a locating bar (10) to prevent twisting.</p>
