摘要 PURPOSE:To extend the life of negative electrodes by emitting thermoelectrons from the negative electrode provided at both end sections of a glass tube in turn as a fixed period elapses. CONSTITUTION:A pair of discharge sections arranged with filament-shaped negative electrodes 15, 25 and positive electrodes 17, 27 face to face at a short interval are provided at both end sections of a long, sealed glass tube 11 respectively. Discharges between the negative electrode 15 of one discharge section and the positive electrode 27 of the other discharge section and between the negative electrode 25 of the other discharge section and the positive electrode 17 of one discharge section are performed alternately via a driving means. A long-tube lamp with a long life can be obtained.
