<p>An anti-skid formation (23) is provided on a substratum (14) by (a) cleaning its upper surface (15), (b) applying an epoxy resin coating (16), (c) allowing it to cure, (d) abrading its exposed surface (17), (e) using as a mould a sheet (11) of flexible material having a multiplicity of indentations (12) in one face (13), (f) filling the indentations with epoxy resin (18) and continuing into a unifying layer (19), (g) allowing the mix to cure partially, (h, i) applying fresh coatings (20, 21) substantially simultaneously to the abraded surface (17) and the unifying layer (19), (j) laying the filled mould material on to the substratum with a stroking action, e.g., by a roller (22) to unit the fresh coatings (20, 21), (k) allowing the united epoxy resin coatings to cure, and (l) peeling off the mould material to leave the anti-skid formation (23) exposed and firmly adhered to the substratum.</p> |
