Multiple devices (16, 16a) that are each suitable for use at a selected one of multiple locations (15) are managed using a network (10) of links (12) that are each assigned to one of the locations (15). Each link (12) is selectable between a state in which a device (16) is not using the link (12) and a state in which one or more devices (16) are using the link (12). Links (12) that are in use by the devices (16) are identified and the locations (15) at which the devices (16) are used are determined based on the indentities of the links (12) that are in use.
