PURPOSE:To enhance the operating easiness in installing a wire harness by pressing part of a leaf spring with a locking member in the condition that the contacting piece of a male terminal is inserted in a female terminal, causing a deformation of the leaf spring, and pinching the contacting piece of the male terminal with pressure between the leaf spring and the female terminal. CONSTITUTION:Locking with a lock member 41 is in disengagement before a female housing 31 is inserted in a male housing 48, wherein a wide space is provided between a female terminal 21 and a leaf spring 26, and a male terminal contacting piece 37 can be inserted in this female terminal 21 with a minor insertion force. When insertion of the contacting piece 37 is finished, a lock member 41 is intruded into the female terminal 21, and in the condition that the contacting piece 37 is inserted in the female terminal 21, the lock member 41 presses part of the leaf spring 26 to generate its displacement, and the contacting piece 37 is pinched with pressure between the leaf spring 26 and the female terminal 21. This reduces the insertion force when the female housing 31 is inserted in the male housing 48, and the operating easiness in installing a wire harness will be enhanced. |
