The invention concerns a paper cover (3) for a food product and a method for producing said cover. The cover is intended for the packaging of food products, in particular those of the liquid-containing kind such as yoghurt, milk, juices, and the like. The cover is coated on its inner surface with polymer coat layers (5). The invention is characterized in that the inside coat layers on the base material (4) of said paper cover are comprised of a polymer bonding layer (8), an oxygen-barrier forming polymer layer (9), another polymer bonding layer (10) and a heat-sealable polymer layer (11). |
