DETECTION OF OBJECT BURIED UNDERGROUND

PURPOSE:To enable the detection of the existence and the type of an object buried underground by burying a sealed container sealed with an odorized fluid, a colored fluid and the like into the soil above the object to recognize odor or color associated with the breakage of the sealed container. CONSTITUTION:For example, a hollow capsule 2 formed oval or spherical from a hard synthetic resin or the like is sealed with an odorized gas having an aromatic odorant added to an N2 gas or a colored gas having a coloring agent added to the N2 gas at a low pressure. It is desired to vary odor and color of the odorant and coloring agent with the type of a buried pipe 1. The capsule 2 thus obtained is buried into the soil 34 between a pavement 30 and the buried pipe 1 being placed into a container 3 or as intact. When the pavement 30 is cut and broken with a concrete cutter and a pavement breaking machine to carry out repairs of roads, the gas sealed is radiated as the capsule 2 is broken with the cutter or the like. Thus, the odor of the odorant or color of the coloring agent allows the detection of the burying of the pipe 1 below and the type thereof thereby enabling the prevention of breakage thereof.
