<p>PURPOSE:To enhance nitrogen and phosphorus removing ability by mixing nitrification bacteria with a phosphorus crystallizing material, pelletizing the mixture and using the resulting pellets in the treatment of waste water. CONSTITUTION:Activated sludge is used as seed bacteria, selective cultivation is carried out with a culture medium for nitrification bacteria or at high concn. of ammonia and solid-liq. separation is carried out by centrifugal separation or sedimentation to obtain a concd. liq. This concd. liq. is mixed with powder of a phosphorus crystallizing material such as calcium silicate or aluminosilicate, resin having high water absorbing property is added to the mixture and they are pelletized. The resulting pellets are put in a nitrifying tank. Phosphorus removing ability as well as nitrogen removing ability can be enhanced and the quality of treated water can be stabilized.</p> |
