<p>Upon edge joining of material layers for forming small, bag-shaped and relatively stiff objects such as leather casings or heavy working gloves, these objects should be turned inside out, what has so far been done manually, with mechanical auxiliaries. It is known to turn soft objects by means of a pneumatic turning nozzle connected to the suction side of a blower, but still the heavy objects are turned manually. According to the invention, however, it is possible to turn even the heavy objects in a simple pneumatic manner, namely when instead of a suction blower a real vacuum pump (2) is used in connection with a vacuum tank (6) having a volume which is very large relatively to the volume of the objects (20). When the working vacuum is almost absolute even very heavy objects can be turned, but tight and less heavy objects may then be damaged by the high vacuum; this can be avoided with the use of a regulator (18) for reduction of the vacuum. An apparatus according to the invention should be able to produce a vacuum of at least 50 %, which is considerably more than achievable with ordinary suction blowers.</p> |
