PURPOSE:To prevent the acting efficiency of a device from lowering by changing the default value of a parameter for regulating a format stored in the control part of a printer on-line from a host computer. CONSTITUTION:The default value of the parameter for regulating the format of printing such as a paper size, a character pitch, and a line space is made to correspond to an ID code and stored in the default value storage part 111 in a printer device 10. The value of the parameter same as in the storage part 111 is stored in a current value storage part 113 and it is the value used for a current job, then it is rewritten when the parameter is changed in the job. The default value stored in the storage part 111 is changed by operating a control panel 15. The ID code and the value of the parameter which is changed are transmitted from the host computer 20 following a changing command so as to rewrite the content of the storage part 111. Then, the changed content of the storage part 111 is loaded on the storage part 113 according to a reset command transmitted continuously. |
