<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently detect a tracking state by making a pilot signal recorded with a digital information signal between adjacent two tracks different and recording it in a part of a different mode. CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic heads are arranged in plural places on a rotary cylinder 13, and a magnetic pattern is formed on a magnetic tape 14 by these plural magnetic heads 9-12. Now, a frequency component of the digital information signal possesses a part of a different mode, and this part of the different mode is formed in a different position between the adjacent tracks. Then, at least such a pilot signal as recorded with the digital information signal between the adjacent tracks in this part of the different mode is recorded to be different from others. By this method, the tracking state can accurately be detected, and based on this detection, a tracking control is feasible even on the digital magnetic recording.</p> |
