<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the protocol processing, while keeping an unused space of a receiving buffer small by selecting and storing an unused block of the shortest length in which the whole receiving data thereof can be stored, based on protocol control information stored in the tip part of a received packet. CONSTITUTION:A communication control LSI 201 has plural pieces of address registers 202, 203 in the inside in accordance with the number of kinds of a block constitution unit, and in one register thereof 202, the head address of a block constitution unit A1 positioned in the head of an unused block chain A is stored. Also, in the other register 203, the head address b1 of the head block constitution unit B1 of an unused block chain B is stored. When a packet 301 arrives, the communication control LSI decides from protocol control information stored in the head of the packet 301, and selects a block used for storing receiving data 303.</p> |
