In a pedal crank drive for a bicycle with two pedal cranks (4a, 4b) fixed together in rotation via a pedal crank spindle (3), a chain wheel (5) with at least one set of teeth (6) which can rotate in relation to the pedal crank spindle (3) and a power transmission spring (10) which can be tensioned between the chain wheel (5) and the neighbouring pedal crank (4a) when the pedal cranks (4a, 4b) are rotated in the forward direction, it is proposed in order to improve the torque distribution during a revolution of the chain wheel to fit a damping spring (15) which is prestressed in the direction of loading of the power transmission spring (10) between the chain wheel (5) and the neighbouring pedal crank (4a). |
