At each end of the sleeve (1) there is provided a jaw support (5c) whose hole (6c) for the passage of the branch-off cable (7) is continued axially by an elongate hollow element (8) which is engaged in a tapered hole (6d) made in another jaw support (5d) which matches the tapered external surface (9) of the said element (8). The branch-off cable (7) is held in the tapered hole (6c) of the first jaw support (5c) by wedging means (11) engaged axially in the said tapered hole (6c). A sealing substance is disposed between the cable (7) and the elongate hollow element (8). Use for protecting electrical cable splices. <IMAGE>
