The accordion has a number of pistons, knobs or keys (11) which can be actuated by the accordion player. The pistons, knobs or keys control flaps (12, 12`) which control the musical notes. The pistons, knobs or keys actuate the flaps (12, 12`) through a system of links (13 to 19). The system of links also actuates metal plates which selectively control the actuation of the tone generation device (20) together with the flaps (12, 12`). A register device operates on the metal plates (100) to select the tone colour characteristics of the accordion. The accordion is enclosed in at least one housing which encloses additional kinematic device installed between the pistons, knots or keys (11) and the metal plates (100) to enable the movement of the pistons, knobs or keys to actuate the metal plates (100).
