<p>PURPOSE:To automatically correct reference white/black level together upon reading of brightness level of a character, photograph, image signal, read by control means by calculating to correct the brightness level of the signal read by the control means by a correction coefficient responsive to a reference level, and correcting it to a level of set reference white/black level. CONSTITUTION:When a table 10 is reciprocated one stroke by the start of an engraving operation, reference white and black grounds of first, second mars 15, 16 disposed at both side of setting position of an original 100 are read by reciprocating photosensors 17, 18 at both ends. The read signals are input to a controller 40. Brightness reference level is set based on the inputs. Correction coefficient corresponding to the reference white/black level is read from correction coefficients input previously by programming, and then the brightness level. of the input signal to the card is corrected to a reference level based on the coefficient.</p> |
