PURPOSE:To smooth the operation drawing the sheets on a distribution bin and the operation returning the same to the distribution bin and to prevent the shift of a stapling position by returning the sheets to the predetermined position on the distribution bin in such a state that a sheet matching means is spaced apart from the stapled sheets. CONSTITUTION:A distribution means 13 distributing sheets to a plurality of distribution bins 2, a stapler 55 stapling and binding the sheets on the distribution bins 2, a means 57 grasping the sheets received in the distribution bins 2 to draw the same to stapling position of the stapler 55 and a sheet matching means matching the sheets on the distribution bins 2 are provided. A control means allows the sheet matching means to be spaced apart from the sheets when the sheets are drawn to the stapling position by a drawing means 57 and brings the sheet matching means into contact with the sheets when the drawn sheets are stapled by the stapler 55 and allows the sheet matching means to be spaced apart from the sheets when the sheets are returned to the predetermined position on the distribution bins 2 after the completion of stapling.
