PURPOSE:To improve the abrasive resistance and strength of a sintered layer and improve the service durability of a sliding member by forming the sintered layer comprising specific copper-based metallic powders on the surface of a metallic base plate and forming a resin layer impregnated and coated with a fluororesin on the sintered layer. CONSTITUTION:A sintered layer 5 is formed by spreading copper based metallic powders comprising 25 to 40wt.% zinc, 1.9 to 5.2wt.% aluminum, 0.25 to 3.0wt.% nickel and the balance of copper and impurities in a prescribed thickness on the surface of a metallic base plate 4 and sintering them in a reducing atmosphere. A resin layer 6 is formed by impregnating voids of the sintered layer 5 with a fluororesin, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, optionally containing additives, and coating the surface. |
