METHOD OF DETECTING LISTERIA GENUS LIVE FUNGUS

PURPOSE: To detect presence of Listeria bacteria predictive of pathogenicity by removing the Listeria bacteria selectively from a sample using an antibody and then proliferating these Listeria bacteria selectively in a macrophage cell. CONSTITUTION: Listeria bacteria are removed selectively from a sample using an antibody and then these Listeria bacteria are proliferated selectively in a macrophage cell (any other kind of cell uptaking the Listeria bacteria through phagocytosis) Subsequently, the Listeria bacteria are discharged from the cell and the presence of Listeria bacteria is examined using a labeled antibody or antibody group specific to the Listeria bacteria. A detection method of Listeria bacteria using a polymerized cellular actin or a hemolysin of Listeria can also be employed. In order to determine the presence of Listeria bacteria in a food sample quickly, the Listeria bacteria must be cultured selectively in a quite short time, but the test results can be interpreted prior to delivery of a fresh food according to the inventive method.
