A processing method capable of effecting any frequency conversion such as expansion, compression and inversion, of the shift frequency of a Doppler shift signal. The shift frequency components of the measured Doppler shift signal are multiplied by an arbitral number in order to remove the aliasing and to heighten the precision of detecting a low-speed object. A phase difference generated at a time interval longer than a very short time interval at a given moment is substituted for a phase difference of the very short time interval. This frequency conversion can be arbitrarily adapted to a continuous-wave Doppler method and a pulse Doppler method.
